(Cucurbitaceae). The structures of the compounds were elucidated by spectroscopic analysis, mainly 1D and 2D NMR and comparing their physical (mp) and spectroscopic data with those reported in the literature. Compounds 1-5 were tested for their enzyme tyrosinase activity. The results showed that cucurbitacin E (2) (IC50= 1.99 :M) exhibited a more potent inhibition than the standard inhibitors kojic acid and L-mimosine.
